2008-09 Regional Commissioner of the Year Award

 

Purpose: To honor a current commissioner or one who has served within the past 12 months, who has demonstrated excellence in advocating for and developing the financial, political, and community support necessary to ensure the continuation of housing or community development programs.

Judging Categories (please attach a separate sheet that addresses each of the topics below): 

1. Community Leadership: describe what thecandidate has done to persuade the community at-large that it must provide the support and assistance necessary for housing and/or community development programs to continue.

2.  Advocacy: describewhat the candidate has done to support the importance of housing and community development with local, state, and national officials.

3.  Public Relations: describe how the candidate has communicated to various media about the authority’s accomplishments, programs, policies, and future plans.

4.  List of awards and commendations.

5.  List of professional affiliations.
